Vessel Internet Management and Firewall

Vessel internet built around your operations.

Connect suitable Starlink, VSAT, and LTE links. We handle installation, traffic priorities, usage controls, monitoring, and technical support, with the service scope agreed for your vessels.

Internet that supports daily work

Give critical systems the bandwidth they need.

Manage how the connection is shared between operational systems, CCTV, and crew access.

One link, one failure

Without a designed backup path, a single terminal, carrier, power, or coverage issue can stop shore communication.

Crew competes with operations

Unmanaged personal traffic can crowd out PMS sync, business systems, remote support, and CCTV access.

Bills without context

Raw totals do not show which vessel, group, or traffic class caused overage or needs a new policy.

Nobody owns the incident

Carrier, hardware, onboard wiring, and policy problems bounce between vendors while the vessel waits.

How it works

Connect your vessels. Manage access. Get support.

We configure the onboard network around your available connections and who needs to use them.

1

Connect available links

Select correct maritime plans, install hardware, and combine Starlink, LTE, VSAT, or shore links where practical.

2

Separate critical traffic

Create clear policy for operations, crew, guests, and CCTV instead of one unmanaged shared network.

3

Monitor and respond

Monitor connection health and usage, investigate faults, and coordinate repairs with the relevant provider or onboard team.

What Altonaut manages

Installation, network controls, and ongoing support.

Your proposal confirms the equipment, connection plans, monitoring, and support included. Available options depend on vessel conditions and coverage.

Primary and backup connections

Combine suitable satellite, cellular, and shore connections. Set which link takes priority and how backup connections take over.

Onboard network setup

Configure onboard routing, wireless access, network segmentation, and fleet policy.

Crew self top-up

Crew choose and pay directly for personal data through the onboard portal; operational data stays separate.

Traffic separation

Keep operations, crew, guest, and CCTV traffic in defined lanes with named access controls.

Fleet monitoring

Watch link and hardware health, usage, exceptions, and incidents from shore.

CCTV integration

Design recording and remote access around real bandwidth, retention, and retrieval needs.

Already have Starlink?

Already connected? We can manage the onboard network.

Keep a suitable carrier plan and add installation, traffic controls, monitoring, and one local team to help resolve network issues.

Track service performance

Track reliability, usage, and cost.

Agree the measures before rollout, then review them for each vessel.

Usable link availability

Operational-link minutes divided by monitored minutes, with agreed exclusions.

Mean time to recover

From alert to restored usable service, with incident cause.

Total connectivity cost

Carrier, hardware, support, and overage cost per vessel-month.

Non-operational usage

Share by policy group, plus overage and quota events.

CCTV retrieval success

Requested footage retrieved within agreed target and retention window.

PMS sync health

Successful syncs, latency, failed attempts, and time spent disconnected.

Common questions

What to expect from managed internet.

Why not buy Starlink directly?

You can buy a carrier plan directly. Altonaut is useful when you also need installation, backup connections, separate access for crew and operational systems, usage controls, monitoring, and local support. We confirm the included services in your proposal.

Will crew access be blocked?

No by default. Crew choose and pay directly for personal data through the onboard portal, while operational data remains separate and keeps priority.

Does failover guarantee we stay online?

No network can promise that across all coverage, weather, power, hardware, and carrier conditions. A managed design gives more paths, visibility, testing, and faster recovery.

Can we start on one vessel?

Yes. For the Planned Maintenance System, start with one vessel and a 45-day pilot. Confirm scope and commercial terms before scaling.

Let’s review your current vessel network.

Share your connections, usage, and support needs. We’ll recommend next steps and separate one-time setup costs from recurring charges.
